Should the CEO be at fault? not always Ethics are very flexable no?

Al( last name be unsaid), in my personal opinion, performs his duties as CEO ethcially. This is due to him increasing stockholder equity of the company by taking the actions that are necessary for the improvement of the business. The sole purpose of every employee is to improve this equity. Hence, if their removal improves this equity they are doing their job. The factor that we are forgetting is that business ethics and personal ethics (morals) are not always the same. Business ethics are a set of standard rules of conducts that every professional in the field knows and should follows. Personal ethics (morals) on the other hand are boundaries and habits that we as people learn overtime. They are developed by either the environment that we interact with or the nurture that we receive as a child. These two types of ethics may have areas in common with each other, but they may also have areas where they are in conflict. It comes down to the person to decide which they should follow. Al’s actions to most seem to be ethically wrong but if you look closer. They are for the improvement of the whole company. The harsh reality to fire personal that spent 30 years with the company on a personal ethics (morals) level is not a good feeling. On a business level it is cutting the red to improve the company. People as a whole will try to save the one person while condemning the company to sure with less and less effective. There fore only a person with strong character and mind can make the decision. Al is one of those people he sees what is wrong and helps the people and the company. By going back to the core values of the company, he saves the company and all the jobs that belong to the company. This may cause some people to lose there job. But, in the long run is it not true that the good of the many out weights the good of the few. Without the separation of the two ways of thought a business may not function properly. Business ethics are not designed to be followed by every person some people can not handle the ethical strain on the mind. The Prime ethical foundry in business is to make money by improving the equity of the stockholders.
